轻巧实用：仪器仅重1.2Kg，体积15×20×4(cm)，将仪器置于浮法玻璃的浸锡面或化学钢化玻璃的表面上，调节仪器的光路，即可测量。　　
计算方便：仪器目镜视场中的台阶高度乘以仪器常数，即可得到玻璃的表面应力值。

The instrument is applicable to non-destructively determine surface stress of the heat-strenthened or tempered float flat glass, and can also be used to  measure the surface stress of the chemically ion-exchanged glass.
